Shield
The shield represents protection, heritage, and continuity. In heraldic tradition it stands as the central element, protecting the system from internal and external threats.
Eagle Wings
The eagle symbolizes connection with higher principles, freedom, courage, honesty, integrity, and truth. It invites practitioners to look forward as they evolve in their training.
Dragon and Tiger Principle
The tiger reflects early-stage physical strength and direct action. The dragon represents maturity, inner strength, and intelligent response. The horns symbolize truth versus falsehood, and the dragon tail flame symbolizes the eternal flame of Kenpo.
Enso and Pattern
The enso symbolizes teaching, reality, enlightenment, balance, and completion. Its slight opening allows variation and personal expression while preserving the essence of the art.
The internal pattern represents movement geometry: triangle, cross, and 45-degree angles used in techniques, kata, weapons, and sparring.
Colors and Globe
Red represents life force and intensity. Yellow represents optimism, intellect, and remembrance. Black represents strength, authority, and formal prestige. The globe represents Kenpo International and its global mission.
